Geoff Hampson

CEO, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Hampson is a seasoned entrepreneur, with 40+ years of experience in mining, oil & gas, construction, technology and manufacturing.

He has founded, financed and managed numerous successful private and public companies since 1978, including Peer 1 Network, Inc., Fibrox Technology LP., Novocon International, Inc., Corelink Data Centers, LLC and Pacific Rodera Energy. He is also the founder and presently Chairman of the Board of the Infracon Group of Companies that provides contract mining, heavy civil construction, aggregates and pipeline services in BC. Hampson was also previously Chairman of the Board of Gold Source Mining Inc. which built a gold mine in Guyana.

Greg Hayes

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hayes, CPA, CA is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a broad range of management and accounting experience.

In addition to working with a number of private companies, Mr. Hayes has been extensively involved in the exploration and mining industry, having served as a director and/or officer of a number of publicly listed junior mining companies over the last fifteen years.

Glenn Walsh

Director

Mr. Walsh started his career as an Engineer working for some of the world’s largest engineering and construction companies with involvement in large scale construction projects in Canada, the USA, Vietnam, and South America.

Over the last 30 years, he has been a founder and investor in over 25 companies with a primary focus in heavy civil construction, power generation, contract mining, road building and highway maintenance. Mr. Walsh is an entrepreneur and an investor with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Yannis Tsitos

Director

A Geophysicist and Businessman with 19 years with BHP Billiton, the last 9 in the position of senior business development manager on minerals exploration with a global reach having worked on exploration deals in 32 countries.

Mr. Tsitos has identified, negotiated and executed an excess of 55 explorations, development and mining agreements and Joint Ventures. He has an extensive global network (exploration, mining, finance).

Natascha Kiernan

Director

Ms. Kiernan is a lawyer, consultant and experienced independent director, specializing in transactions involving mining and other natural resources.

She is the principal and founder of Bellevue Strategic Advisory, a business consultancy that advises clients on the negotiation and structuring of their financing and commercial agreements. Ms. Kiernan has held senior positions with several prominent international law firms in New York and London. She was listed as a “Top 40 under 40” rising legal star by the Financial News.

Terry Krepiakevich, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D

Director

Mr. Krepiakevich is a seasoned financial and governance expert with extensive experience across various sectors, notably in the mining and resource industries.

A Fellow of the British Columbia Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Association and a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), he brings strong oversight capabilities and financial acumen to every role he undertakes.

From 2009 to 2022, Mr. Krepiakevich served as a Director and Audit Committee Chair for Alexco Resource Corp., a mineral resources company listed on both the TSX and NYSE. During his tenure, he was instrumental in guiding the company through rigorous financial and regulatory requirements, demonstrating his commitment to transparency and sound financial practices.

Beyond his role at Alexco, Terry has made significant contributions as a member and chair of compensation and governance committees for multiple publicly traded companies. His expertise in audit, governance, and executive compensation has positioned him as a valuable asset for boards seeking experienced guidance on corporate strategy, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Mark Bren

VP Operations

Mr. Bren held leadership roles after earning a B.SC. in Mining Engineering. He possesses over 35 years of mining operation expertise.

He has held positions such as the GM for CRG Mining Co. and Gold Road Mining Co. and Senior Project Manager for Iron Woman Mining Services. He also held various senior management positions with Coeur Silver Valley Inc. and US Silver & Gold Corp. He worked for ASARCO after earning a BSc degree in Mining Engineering from the Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology (1994).

Chris Buchanan

VP Exploration

Mr. Buchanan is a registered professional geologist with 25+ years of experience in mineral exploration, holding honors, a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in geology.

He has worked on exploration to mine development projects in Canada, South America, Mexico, and Australia. His recent work has focused on structurally controlled gold-bearing quartz vein systems, lead-zinc deposits, and copper-gold porphyry systems. He has held key roles with major and junior exploration companies and worked as an independent structural geology consultant.

Julian Storz

VP Business Development

Mr. Storz is a finance professional with over a decade of experience spanning corporate finance, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets.

Prior to joining Soma Gold Corp., Mr. Storz served as Director, Investment Banking – Mining & Metals at an independent investment bank based in Toronto. In this role, he advised a broad range of clients, from senior producers to early-stage exploration companies, on strategic initiatives including corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, streaming and royalty transactions, and Indigenous community engagement.

Previously, Mr. Storz worked in Debt Capital Markets at HSBC Global Banking and Markets and in Transaction Advisory Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Mr. Storz holds a Master of Science in Investment and Finance from the University of Strathclyde Business School in the United Kingdom and is a certified derivatives trader at the European Eurex Exchange.

Hector Melendez

Colombia Country Manager

Mr. Melendez is a seasoned mining professional appointed as the Colombia Country Manager for Soma Gold Corp. Hector is a Mining Metallurgist graduate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and holds a master’s degree in project management from Valle Mexico University.

Before joining Soma Gold, Hector was the General Manager of Luca Mining Corp., where he managed two mining operations in Mexico and successfully met corporate goals in production, operational efficiency, and safety. His prior experience includes a tenure as Technical Services Manager at First Majestic Corporation, where he led the Life of Mine (LOM) planning, OPEX and CAPEX budgeting, and optimization of narrow, high-grade vein operations.

Hector also brings valuable regional expertise from his time at GranColombia Gold, where he worked at the Segovia Mine in Antioquia, Colombia, a site neighbouring Soma’s properties. His deep understanding of the region and its geological traits makes him a crucial asset to Soma’s operations.

Jean-Francois Meilleur

VP Capital Markets

Mr. Meilleur brings 17 years of experience in corporate mining advisory, including eight years as VP of Capital Markets at Critical Elements Corp.

He currently holds the position of VP of Capital Markets at Soma Gold. An experienced manager, Jean-Francois has a robust history in the investment industry, demonstrating expertise in entrepreneurship, mergers & acquisitions, startups, leadership, and strategic planning. He is a skilled business development professional, holding a bachelor’s degree in finance from HEC Montréal.
